Let’s begin

My whole passion about healthy natural foods started when I was a kid in my grandmother’s little kitchen.  That’s where my love about healthy eating started. Let’s all take a peek into my grandmother’s pantry and see what we can find. Many of the recipes and dishes have been passed down from generation to generation and are still enjoyed by my family today. My grandparents actually created these recipes a long time ago and the tradition to make it every year is still in our family.

I have been fortunate enough to grow up in a small farm where everything was grown organically. We are growing our own vegetables and we raise our own chickens. Everything is all natural. No GMO, no PESTICIDES. I like to know what I am eating and when you are growing your own vegetables you really know what you are eating.

Now that you know a little about our little farm I want to show you why the quality of the food is very important. Organic and bio products are the healthiest option for our bodies. There are no chemicals or GMOs included. I always choose the healthy option for me and my family and I will show you in recipes how we used all the organic products from our garden.

There are 4 seasons where my grandmother lives. So we only have May thru October to grow our vegetables. During the summer season we prepare a lot of salads and different dishes with the fresh fruits and vegetables from our garden. We also dedicate a part of the harvest for winter recipes that we store in mason jars as well as in the freezer. That way we have healthy homemade food at any time of the year.

As most of us know all fruits and vegetables have many vitamins and minerals that are essential to our everyday good health. You can see a list of important nutrients and where you can find them HERE.

I hope you will enjoy your time discovering and looking into my garden. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do so in the comments. I will be more than happy to share my experiences and knowledge with you and hope to hear some of yours as well. So let’s create some delicious plates together! Let’s enjoy food, let’s enjoy cooking!
